Hanoi’s Thanh Chuong Entrepreneurs Association Increases Investment to Support Local Development

On July 16, 2023, the Thanh Chuong Entrepreneurs Association in Hanoi and the Northern region, together with the People’s Committee of Thanh Chuong district, held a meeting to strengthen exchanges and cooperation, connect members, and explore investment opportunities in their hometown. The meeting brought together businessmen, public figures, intellectuals, leaders, and former Thanh Chuong locals residing and working in Hanoi, along with district leaders.

Notable attendees included Nguyen Xuan Thang, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council and President of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Tran Sy Thanh, Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee, Trinh Van Nha, Chairman of Thanh Chuong People’s Committee, as well as CEOs and General Directors of numerous corporations and enterprises in Hanoi.

During his speech, Nguyen Xuan Thang emphasized the importance of entrepreneurs taking action to unlock the untapped potential in Thanh Chuong. He also highlighted the need for development planning, particularly in infrastructure, such as roads and bridges, as well as increasing the value of local products.

Nguyen Canh Hong, CEO of Eurowindow Group and Chairman of Thanh Chuong Enterprise Association in Hanoi, expressed the meeting’s purpose of exchanging experiences, promoting development among member enterprises, and finding solutions for economic growth in the district.

During the meeting, the Association reviewed its operations and discussed the direction of activities for 2024 and beyond. Participants also exchanged ideas, strengthened cooperation, and sought consensus on investment promotion for socio-economic development in Thanh Chuong district.

Trinh Van Nha, Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee and Chairman of Thanh Chuong People’s Committee, highlighted the district’s potential and the urgent need for attention and investment promotion from entrepreneurs and enterprises. He mentioned the upcoming Hanoi – Vientiane Expressway Project, which will create significant development opportunities.

Several businessmen expressed their interest in the district’s development potential, including proposed investment projects, industrial clusters, new urban areas, and local products such as salted jackfruit, honey, and black carp. They also called for the Association and district leaders to connect with Thanh Chuong entrepreneurs across the country and abroad for joint development.

During the meeting, Nguyen Canh Hong, on behalf of the new Executive Committee of Thanh Chuong Enterprise Association in Hanoi, presented VND 2.5 billion from the contributions of Thanh Chuong entrepreneurs in Hanoi to support the district’s development.

Established in August 2009, the Thanh Chuong Entrepreneurs Association in Hanoi has been actively promoting connection, convergence, and sharing among its members. Despite the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, the Association has mobilized significant contributions to the Study Promotion Fund, infrastructure projects, and job creation. Additionally, the Association has provided support of over VND 1 billion during the pandemic.
